In short, the Config mission focuses on orchestrating all the experiences that an admin needs to consider when setting up and enabling their teams to start working.

In this role, you will:

Make a substantial impact at scale. We have more than 1M users worldwide, and large and small teams depend on JSM to do their work. As a content designer, you will be involved in everything from ground floor content strategy to UI copy. Your work will have incredible customer impact.
Tackle interesting, complex problems. Working closely with your engineering and product partners, you'll have a large amount of ownership and autonomy across the entire design process. You'll have the opportunity to help define the end-to-end experience of an exciting and critical area of our business along side your product design counterpart.
Collaborate cross-functionally with some of the industry's smartest (and nicest) people. Day-to-day you'll work on a multidisciplinary product team, collaborating closely with Engineers, Product Managers, Product Designers, Marketing Experts, and Analysts to champion the user experience in our products and ship high-quality work.

Our dream candidate will bring:

  • Hands-on professional experience as a content designer, UX writer, or similar
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to work across multiple teams and senior leadership, solicit and synthesise feedback, communicate design decisions and facilitate design discussions
  • Experience with planning and driving work forward as a team, while being a self-starter who can work autonomously when needed
  • A track record of delivering outcomes as a hands-on content designer
  • An understanding of how content design connects to business objectives
  • An appreciation for research and a proven understanding of the techniques required to develop customer empathy and validate concepts
  • The ability to see the whole user experience, rather than just the part you're working on, and have as much skill in identifying what needs to be removed, as you do in suggesting what can be added
  • Experience in improving or building both information architecture and content strategy
  • The ability to measure project success, test your assumptions and outcomes, and continuously incorporate feedback
  • A growth mindset and desire to learn, grow and form a strong team – we support each other, try new things, and create safe spaces for discussion
  • Bonus Points: you have experience working with enterprise-grade tools, technical documentation in an Agile environment, or using content testing tools
  • Bonus Points: You have experience with ITSM.
  • When you join the team, you’ll be expected to have:

  • Amazing writing skills, preferably with experience writing for software products
  • A love for both technical and user content
  • Experience working with and influencing software development teams, product managers, and designers
  • A track record of working in and managing documentation and UI copy projects in an agile, fast-paced environment.
