What is the opportunity?
For the right candidate, this role at Plenti offers the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the core finance and tax function for a dynamic, rapidly-growing Australian technology-led business. Working in a small, high-performance team with regular exposure to management and other business functions, you will have visibility across all facets of finance for a complex and ever-evolving business with the chance to rapidly build technical financial skills, tax knowledge and commercial acumen through exposure to a wide range of business issues and stakeholders.
What's the role?
Reporting to the Financial controller, you will be a senior member in a team responsible for the core finance and tax function. The activities performed by the team are critical to enable accurate financial reporting as well as financial analysis and insights that support decision making across Plenti. The role is suited to an individual who is confident, a team player, someone who has strong technical accounting, analytical and problem-solving capabilities and a continuous process improvement mindset.
What will you be doing?
You will play a key role in delivery of Plenti’s monthly financial results pack, including providing insights and analysis to Executive and Board. You will assist business leaders to understand and proactively managing their OPEX budget through preparation of monthly OPEX reporting and provision of commentary and analysis. You will be responsible for a number of daily and month end activities such as posting and reviewing month end journals, processing payments, preparation of GST/BAS returns and cashflow analysis You will be apply your technical accounting knowledge to help ensure appropriate recording of financial transactions across Plenti’s complex business funding and product structures.
You will support the Financial Controller in ensuring an effective half-year review and full-year audit process with Plenti’s auditors. You will identify and deliver process improvement initiatives for the Finance team, leveraging the modern technology and data architecture utilised by Plenti. You will be responsible for preparing the financial calculations required to ensure compliance with Plenti’s Australian Financial Services and Australian Credit Licenses You will be responsible for maintaining strong internal controls, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and raising any identified control weaknesses

• CA/CPA qualified with 5 years plus commercial experience
• Self-confident and motivated individual with a willingness to go above and beyond
• Advanced Excel skills with ability to analyse large volumes of data and to extract and present insights from that data
• Strong attention to detail in preparation of own work and in review of team members’ work
• Capacity to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
• Ability to take full ownership of tasks and deliver high-quality work
• Continuous improvement mindset, with ability to develop and implement improvement ideas
• Sound knowledge of financial reporting requirements and accounting standards, with strong technical accounting skills
• Experience in financial services and/or experience with an ASX listed company will be highly regarded
