You will be key in establishing the design culture and creating data driven design experiences in a growing organization moving quickly from a startup into a scale up. We are building a high quality, high performing global design team and are currently seeking an experienced UX Researcher to attach to our Portland, Oregon or East Coast Australia offices. While this position could also be conducted remotely, it will support global, cross-functional teams in APAC, the United States and EMEA. Our ideal candidate will guide and inspire others by uncovering meaningful human-centered insights to drive great design and innovation for our product teams. 

Your work will be vital to how we understand the needs of our customers, and internal operations that effectively address our users’ key problems. As a UX researcher you will need to execute a range of formative and iterative research methods impacting both product direction and product design. In addition, we are seeking individuals who are curious, driven, methodical, effective communicators.

This position can be based remotely on the East Coast of Australia or if you are in Sydney - head into our uber cool Chippendale office at your leisure!

What will you be doing?

  • Develop and roll-out a UX research program. 
  • Identify and execute research based on analysis of existing product designs, business needs, project goals, and risks.
  • Continuously gather knowledge about customers through various channels (e.g. shadowing operations teams, customer interviews/feedback.)
  • Design and conduct remote user research studies, including surveys, in-depth interviews, and concept/prototype testing.
  • Analyze, synthesize and present findings to all stakeholders with clarity and agility using a combination of various user feedback and research tools and your own methodologies.
  • Communicate findings and opportunities in clear, concise, and compelling ways to stakeholders.
  • Foster collaboration with designers, product managers, marketers, and operations to translate. insights into actionable recommendations that inform execution.
  • Contributing to the creation and optimization of a sustainable experience that leads to long-term, engaged users.
  • Measuring KPIs and ensuring product alignment across the organization.
  • We would be delighted to hire someone who has

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and executing research on digital platforms including web, desktop, and mobile. We expect to hear stories of how your research influenced product roadmaps and informed design decisions.
  • Solid understanding of best practices for conducting research (qualitative and quantitative) in user experience, product design, or technology contexts. Bonus points if you have done this remotely in the past.
  • A portfolio of written project plans and results presentations that demonstrate the use of a variety of research methodologies to successfully contribute solutions to solve complex problems.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills with a proven ability to turn research results into product insights.
  • Strong understanding of statistical concepts and how to apply them in the context of user experience research.
  • Self-motivated and execution-oriented. Ability to execute at a high level of quality in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Ability to create compelling presentations and confidently convey insights through storytelling.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence a range of audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems.
  • Experience and expertise conducting remote research.
  • An interest in working with teams and individuals based in offices in the United States, Australia and EMEA, as well as other remote locations, and an ability and interest to collaborate with those in other time zones.
