Our Planning team is an eclectic mix of strategic problem-solvers and creative analytical thinkers who love products. Our Planners analyse and forecast financial and product trends, review the performance of our products, and make sure that sufficient stock is available. They also work with brands and suppliers to negotiate price structures, delivery dates, specific merchandise requirements and contracts so that we continue to meet our goals. They are key in rolling out company-wide projects and have a keen eye for process improvement and streamlining – they are dedicated to efficiency and love the numbers. 

What’s involved…

  • Responsible for administrating just in time supply and coordinating a never out of stock result for a portfolio of brands. It requires the ability to forecast long term and short term demand and working with demand forecasting tools to define quantification of repeat orders.
  • Administers the core stock replenishment programs within the parameters of the company’s target inventory productivity metrics to drive NMV and profitability.
  • Maintains core lines at a 95% in stock managing a never out of stock situation 
  • Analyses sales trends to ensure that allocation of receipts results in maximum sales.
  • Can predict upcoming sales trends by style using R.O.S information and historical selling curves to manage future replenishment
  • Reviews weekly sell through to develop weekly flow of merchandise from the Vendor to the Fulfilment centre
  • Can analyse weeks of supply and apply them to the ordering of merchandise and influencing the vendor and planner on OTB decisions.
  • Develops and maintains an open line of communication with vendors and the planning team to meet inventory needs.
  • Reports on  weekly actuals for major programs and key items to determine sales goals, to ensure adequate stock to meet future sales budgets and customer demand.
  • Maintains healthy weeks of supply during the full price life cycle of the merchandise and monitors these elements to project future stock needs or to recommend clearance strategies.
  • Performs pre-season, in season and postseason analysis to identify future opportunities to maximize sales and margin for stores.

  • Excellent Excel skills or the ability to learn and upskill quickly within Office tools
  • Passion and interest for retail will be highly regarded.

Health and Wellbeing is extremely important to THE ICONIC, so interviewing for this role will be conducted virtually due to COVID-19. Where possible and in line with government Covid-19 restrictions, we are transitioning to in-office onboarding for all new starters on day one.
