This role is a challenging mix of strategic IT structuring, planning and value driven implementation. Our IT Systems to date have been managed effectively by our CEO, but our current scale and growth plans call for greater investment in this critical support function. We are searching for candidates with impeccable technical skills and an interest and drive to build a robust IT department from the ground up.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage our overall IT Strategy, including systems, projects and resources
  • Manage and maintain critical IT systems and infrastructure, including network and servers, with guidance from the CIO.
  • Monitor and maintain technical infrastructure, storage and network traffic to optimise performance and efficiency across the business
  • Deploy new systems and manage IT projects as required
  • Manage our NIST compliance.
  • Audit our systems and identify gaps, recommend and implement solutions.
  • Manage our IT documentation and policies
  • Provide day to day IT support & solutions for a team of 100 ppl
  • Set up and manage IT hardware, software and user accounts for new starters, including remote setup for team members based outside of Sydney
  • Manage IT assets, including asset registers, storage and repairsProcure and manage office IT equipment, such as teleconference equipment, PCs and screens
  • Manage a mix of Linux and Windows servers and clients (including Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, print services), Google Workspace, Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Zabbix, File Server (ReadyNAS and TrueNAS based), Ubiquiti networking equipment and backup systems.
  • Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in a related technical field is required
  • Strong technical experience with Windows Server, Linux, security-oriented networking, virtualisation, and hybrid (cloud and on-site) hosting of internal and client facing services
  • Experience working in a security critical environment
  • 4+ years running small IT department in a complex, fast moving environment
  • 2+ years of relevant IT help desk experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management, driven to work quickly
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Well developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to execute in a fast-paced environment
