This role exists within Brighte’s emerging energy business, providing expertise in data analytics using advanced tools. This requires an ability to solve complex problems with large datasets, and translate insights to actionable solutions. In addition, this role will own data management for our energy business.

Data Insights and Visualisation

  • Analyse internal and external business data to identify opportunities for product development and enhancements.
  • Analyse the residential electricity data to gain insight and maximise value to our customers.
  • Develop complex queries for business insights and extract data for the wider team to use in their analysis.
  • Create ad-hoc and routine data visualisation and reports (including on Tableau) that tell a
  • story and make it easy for the audience to interpret key messages.
  • Implement control mechanisms to ensure there is ‘a single source of truth’ for our energy business.
  • Take an ownership of data sourcing for the energy team from both internal and external.
  • Help promote a culture of self-serve analytics while provide key reports and insights for critical business decisions.
  • Collaboration and stakeholder management

  • Work alongside a talented cross functional data-team led by Brighte’s
  • technology function.
  • Present results to leaders and colleagues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Produce, document and communicate data-driven recommendations including performance improvement, product feature and systems optimisation.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions.
  • Data management

  • Maintain and develop extract, transform and load (ETL) processes.
  • Ensure data accuracy via verifying, cleansing and transforming data.
  • Develop self-serve master tables.
  • Who you are

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Experience using Python to perform complex data analysis to draw commercial insights.
  • Exceptional proficiency in SQL and data visualisation skills (e.g. Tableau)
  • Experience both producing analysis-on-demand as well as generating insights from business and electricity data.
  • Deep expertise with Microsoft Excel in large, and complex modelling for analysis, reporting, and collaboration with the wider team.
  • Experience in energy (e.g. retail energy, wholesale energy markets, renewable energy technologies) is highly regarded.
  • Experience in Machine learning (e.g. scikit-learn) is highly regarded.
  • Experience with version control (Git) and cloud-based technologies (e.g. AWS) is highly regarded.
