The Role 
Industry-leading tech company seeks experienced Creative Director to help define and continuously evolve the creative vision for a rapidly growing global brand known for innovation and disruption. Working on a global stage, this exciting role will help define and continuously evolve the creative vision of the rapidly growing Megaport brand. The talented candidate will also ideate and produce design assets used in direct local and global campaigns, be hands-on with the development and project management of digital marketing assets and marketing collateral from concept to completion, and drive large-scale brand activities.

Your vision will continue to push Megaport’s brand alongside top-tier technology companies, resulting in amplified exposure and brand recognition. Reporting to the Head of Global Marketing, you will be a team leader that drives Megaport’s brand and in-house production capabilities. Our customers and partners ask if they can BUY our merch. We need someone who can take that affinity to the next level.

The ideal candidate will be based on the West Coast, USA or Australia.

What You'll Be Doing

  • You’ll be the leader of our brand “agency” function within Megaport and Ideate, explore, create, and design engaging, brand-forward experiences and visuals from concept to execution.
  • Be responsible for evolving, protecting, and scaling a cohesive brand design strategy across our corporate, marketing, and product ecosystem.
  • Develop and execute brand strategy and deliverables for the appropriate target personas, verticals, and technology organizations while positioning Megaport’s unique personality and position. Create consistent, high-quality design across all our branded materials that meets company objectives and reinforces our brand across all channels.
  • Own the development and design of our brand guidelines, brand asset library, and digital asset management solutions for illustrations, video, collateral, merchandise, icons, corporate website pages and more).
  • Lead the digital design team; Create and own the design and execution of marketing, advertising, and sales collateral and communications by creating original content including integrated campaigns, templates for digital resources, and everything in between.
  • Work cross functionally across product, marketing, sales, and customer success to translate business needs, product concepts, and customer value into expressive design solutions.
  • Proactively evolve, identify, and independently prioritize, build, and distribute new assets and templates that allow us to scale as a globally distributed team.
  • Directly manage Megaport creative staff and external agencies to fulfill projects and timely programs and deliverables.
  • What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in B2B but with a B2C flare for brand and marketing.
  • You must be able to operate as a business owner and provide an agency approach to branding and program delivery.
  • Must have an online portfolio showcasing a variety of work from different brands and companies highlighting original ideation on independent and collaborative brand projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build upon Megaport visual brand standards and products; you will need an attention for detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into a story that resonates with our target customers through compelling forms of design
  • Mentorship skills — educate and inspire your team of designers and oversee their project work in addition to providing critique and design-thinking exercises.
  • Experience in digital production and print design.
  • Must have an understanding of industry best practices; innate understanding of how to build viral branding.
  • Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite CC in addition to Sketch, and/or Figma experience.
  • Experience with Wordpress, UI and UX (able to show previous projects).
  • Web design experience needed, knowledge of HTML, CSS (ability to edit and write prefered) desired.
  • Professional, fun and enthusiastic in both communication and visual problem solving.
  • Able to work equally autonomously and collaboratively.
