Overview of Position

In this junior role you'll be responsible for recording and maintaining the financial transactions for our Australian company. As our bookkeeper, you will be working to support the Finance Team by contributing to the smooth operation of our day-to-day finances. Using your numeracy skills and eye for detail, you will ensure that all transactions are processed with accuracy and efficiency.

Role Responsibilities:

Manage creditor accounts on a daily basis – processing payable invoices, payments, reconciling supplier accounts, resolving invoice discrepancies, bank and credit card reconciliations of the Australian company

Manage supplier information and records

Cross-train in payroll process as a back-up to an existing person

Direct communication with the Procurement Team regarding account queries and outstanding payable invoices

Assist in the preparation of monthly returns, including BAS and payroll tax

Oversee efficient filing of all financial records

Undertake any other specific duties as required by the Financial Controller

Develop a solid operational understanding of all aspects within the Company

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Certificate IV in bookkeeping or higher

One or two years of experience in a support role within Accounting with exposure to accounts payable and bank reconciliations

Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy

Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the Company

Ability to work independently & collaboratively to deliver results in demanding, deadline-driven situations

Strong general computer aptitude – intermediate to advanced word and excel skills

Experience in the use of ERP
