Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity, assuming candidates have eligible working rights and a sufficient timezone overlap with their team. As our offices re-open, Atlassians can choose to work remotely or return to an office, unless it’s necessary for the role to be performed in the office. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.

Atlassian helps teams everywhere change the world. Our products are revolutionizing the software industry and helping teams collaborate and craft the magic that delivers their best work. Think NASA launching the Rover on Mars or Cochlear gifting those born deaf with the ability to hear, your work directly impacts the products they use to advance humanity.

We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to own a group of teams in our internal insights and analysis organisation. Your teams will be responsible for reducing the effort required by Atlassian’s thousand’s of Software Engineers to improve the maturity of their approach to engineering, operational practices and compliance.

You’re a leader of leaders, coaching engineering managers and architects that report to you, supporting them in their professional development to unlock their potential, and encouraging them to step outside their comfort-zone to grow and excel. You’ll also play a critical role in the org’s leadership team, working with other engineering managers, architects, product managers and program managers to steer the organisation by contributing to the strategy and helping determine the right problems for the teams to invest in solving.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • Experience managing engineering managers and technical leaders
  • A passion for driving cultural change in technical excellence, quality and efficiency
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
  • Operational experience with teams responsible for running mission-critical production services
  • Experience in the following is preferred:

  • Experience influencing teams outside your own organisation with data and insights
  • A demonstrated ability to foster an innovation culture in your teams
  • Interests in BI, data analysis or machine learning
  • Worked within a engineering environment that must meet regulated industry laws and certifications such as FedRAMP, HIPAA, SOC2 or ISO 27001
  • More about our benefits

Whether you work in an office or a distributed team, Atlassian is highly collaborative and yes, fun! To support you at work (and play) we offer some fantastic perks: ample time off to relax and recharge, flexible working options, five paid volunteer days a year for your favourite cause, an annual allowance to support your learning & growth, unique ShipIt days, a company paid trip after five years and lots more.
