As our offices re-open, Atlassians can choose to work remotely or return to an office, unless it’s necessary for the role to be performed in the office. We specialize in guiding users through their journey with our products by providing carefully crafted documentation and in-product text. Our mission is to write content that matters and provides just enough guidance for the tasks our customers need to complete, preferably with a dash of delight.

We're also constantly working to find better ways to measure what makes an information experience successful. You'll be using these methods (perhaps suggesting new methods we've not thought of) to constantly challenge ourselves and improve our craft.

Come join a product team that's innovating the way developers collaborate and build software all over the world: Atlassian is searching for a Content Designer to join our Design teams. You’ll be part of teams improving our customer's vital day to day interactions with our products, which is relied on by modern software development teams worldwide. Your mission will to make the lives of these people easier and help them feel more satisfied.

Our dream candidate will bring:

  • 3+ years of hands-on professional experience as a content designer, UX writer, or similar
  • A growth mindset and a desire to be part of a strong team
  • Strong communication and stakeholder influence skills
  • A track record of delivering outcomes as a hands-on content designer
  • Understanding of how content design connects to business objectives
  • An appreciation for research and a proven understanding of the techniques required to develop customer empathy and validate concepts
  • The ability to see the whole user experience, rather than just the part you’re working on, and have as much skill in identifying what needs to be removed, as you do in suggesting what can be added
  • An eye for detail and the ability to get to the root of the problem while working autonomously
  • Experience in improving or building both information architectures and content strategies for
  • Bonus Points: you have experience working with Enterprise grade tools, working with technical documentation in an Agile environment, or using content testing tools.
  • Bonus Points: You have experience with DevOps
  • When you join the team, you'd be expected to have:

  • Amazing writing skills, preferably writing for software products
  • A love for both technical and user content
  • Experience working with and influencing software development teams, product managers, and designers
  • A track record of working in and managing documentation and ui copy projects in an agile, fast-paced environment
  • As a content designer at Atlassian you’ll:

  • Make a substantial impact at scale. We have more than 10M users all around the world—and teams (massive and small) depend on our software to do their work. Organizations like NASA, Twitter, and LinkedIn use Atlassian products everyday;. As a content designer involved in everything from ground floor content strategy to UI copy, your work will have incredible customer impact.
  • Tackle interesting, complex problems. Working closely with your engineering and product partners, you'll have a large amount of ownership and autonomy through the design process and rather than just work on individual features, you'll have the opportunity to improve the end-to-end experience of an exciting and critical area of our business.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with some of the smartest (and nicest) people in the industry. Day-to-day you'll work on a fast-moving, multidisciplinary product team, collaborating closely with Engineers, Product Managers, Product Designers, Researchers, Marketing Experts, and Analysts to champion the user experience in our products and ship high quality work.
