Vow is a food company -- a very different one. We’re creating real meat products from animal cells, instead of the animal itself. We’re bringing together cutting edge innovations in science, technology, culinary and design to make sustainable food that’s both irresistible and available to billions of people worldwide.

The work that we are doing is a critical step on the path to creating a future where humans can exist in sustainable harmony with our planet. A world we can proudly hand over to our children and grandchildren. We are achieving this by creating sustainable food that is the most delicious, desirable choice of anything available. This is a mission we believe in deeply.

As a company, we’re 16 months old. We have a growing team of 27 hard-working people who genuinely look out for each other and we are fully funded to tackle our ambitious mission.

As Vow’s Talent Lead, you will be tasked with finding brilliant, new Vowzers who are excited and ready to help us achieve our mission of feeding billions of people with irresistible, sustainable food. You hustle hard and can find and persuade the best people to join Vow. You excel at multitasking and operate efficiently, but you also have sky-high “EQ”, care deeply about people, diversity, and inclusion, and are eager to make Vow widely known as a welcoming, amazing place to thrive and grow.

What you'll do:

  • Run the end to end recruiting process for a range of scientific, product and engineering roles. Sourcing candidates, initiate outreach, and serve as their main point of contact throughout the recruitment process.
  • Build out and manage a more robust recruiting pipeline through recruiting events, partnerships, and Vow’s employee referral reward program.
  • Take overall responsibility for Vow's hiring targets, collaborating with hiring managers to make that happen.
  • Develop a transparent, fair strategy and process for managing compensation at Vow.
  • Report out on recruiting and talent-related metrics to the broader team at Vow.
  • Help us to accurately articulate our company culture, mission, and what makes Vow so special to candidates.
  • Own initiatives around diversity, equity, and inclusion at Vow.
  • In return, we will support you with:

  • A productive, safe, supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Active transparency to let you actively contribute to every facet of the business.
  • No legacy overheads -- the freedom to define the best approach to solving problems, both technically and organisationally.
  • High-stakes work that matters deeply to the company and the world. A mission for you to sink your skills and passion into.
  • Ongoing career support, weekly 1:1s and feedback from leadership, and access to learning and development opportunities.
  • About you:

  • You're mission aligned, and care that you’re building something that solves huge problems for our food systems and global sustainability.
  • You are passionate about bringing the best people in the world into the building to join Vow.
  • People are your jam. You love meeting them, talking with them, and helping thrive.
  • Culture is more than just a word to you. You obsess about it and think of culture as a guiding north star that’s critical to any company’s success.
  • You’re hyper-efficient and complete a crazy number of tasks in a timely manner.
  • You aren’t afraid to build new processes from scratch.
  • You have a “no task too small” mentality and are always eager to dig in and help.
  • You’re excited at the idea of rapid growth and change, even in your own roles and responsibilities.
  • Required experience & skills:

  • 3+ years of people and recruiting-related experience.
  • Clear track record of attracting high-performing employees with strong retention.
  • Strong knowledge of at least one major applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Experience at a rapidly growing startup.
  • Stellar communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • People or recruiting experience for technical (e.g., engineering, science) roles.
  • Ultimately this role will be shaped around the right candidate. If you love the mission and have evidence that you can make a strong contribution towards it, we want to speak to you.

Vow’s mission is to make food products for everyone, and we mean everyone. To do that well we need a workforce that’s representative of the people we serve. We celebrate multiple approaches and points of view, we are inclusive and we believe diversity drives innovation - so we’re building a culture to match. Uniqueness is powerful - be yourself and come as you are.
