We're an online payment platform crafted for small businesses. We build intentionally simple software to help small businesses accept card payments from their customers (in many cases for the first time), with minimal complexity and cost.

Over 12,000 businesses in Australia and New Zealand have trusted us with their online payments to date. In early 2020, Pin Payments became a part of Checkout.com.

About the role
This is a phenomenal opportunity to join a fun, positive and humble team that is passionate about helping small businesses achieve big things!

This person will help manage a diverse range of projects across all departments within the organisation. It's a key role with a significant opportunity to have a huge impact and will be granted trust and autonomy to deliver results.

Operating as a key resource to the management team, you'll drive the structured delivery of cross-functional projects. While keeping key stakeholders up-to-date on project status and providing suitable recommendations for improving processes where appropriate.

The role will be based in Melbourne or Perth. 

About You:

  • 3+ years hands-on Project Analyst/Coordinator/Manager experience in a technology start-up.
  • Basic technical skills (reading technical specifications, API knowledge…).
  • Experience working with a range of project management frameworks (such as Waterfall, Agile, Kanban), and the awareness to adopt a framework that’s suitable for how we work.
  • Superb communication. Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary partners to drive outcomes.
  • Experience delivering software projects from start to finish.
  • Great teammate, energy catalyst and positive problem solver.
  • A desire to establish a project management function and grow your skills within a fast-paced tech startup.
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the management team to bring alignment to the organisation’s current and future project priorities.
  • Ownership of projects which will involve working with cross-functional distributed teams ranging from Product, Engineering, Commercial, and more.
  • Apply organizational skills to build a delivery plan. Where required, phase out deliverables to make goals achievable.
  • Ensure accountability in each domain is maintained.
  • Display emotional intelligence in balancing tight target date and any resource constraints but will also not shy away from driving outcomes where progress stalls.
  • Manage risks openly and transparently, and seek help when required.
  • Facilitate cross-team discussions to ensure alignment as well as project tracking meetings, ensuring you have representation from all contributing teams as well as having input and the right steer from key partners.
  • Establishing rapport with the team.
  • Consistently educating and instilling simple and effective project management principles across the organisation.
