How you will add value:

This is a newly created role for hipages post our successful IPO in November, the objective of the role is assisting the CEO to ensure hipages executes on our strategic plan via both effective strategy mobilisation practices and growing the business organically (investing in accelerated growth opportunities) and  inorganically via M&A and JV opportunities that align with our long term strategy to deliver superior shareholder outcomes.

Specifically your mandate includes:

  • As a member of the senior leadership team you will contribute to strategy that ensures hipages continues on its excellent growth trajectory and delivers superior value to shareholders, customers, consumers and our team;
  • Identifying and Analysing M&A and divestment opportunities, including; insuring a range of financial outcomes, value drivers, sensitivities and risks are fully evaluated;
  • Manage all in-bound technology collaboration enquiries (JV’s,  investments, acquisitions), evaluating strategic alignment and business case for further discussions;
  • Execution of M&A and divestment opportunities, including; consulting with investment banks, legal advisors and internal teams;
  • Conducting industry and competitor analysis, including; building a strong understanding of the industry and assist in the preparation of various hipages presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support and facilitate the ongoing development and review of the groups corporate strategy, including; supporting the CEO with the annual SLT and Board strategy offsites and all associated work streams.
  • Manage  internal and external strategy communications, including updates to shareholders and the market and work with the Chief People & Culture Officer on internal communications so the hipages team clearly understands the hipages strategy and their role to help achieve it.
  • Work with CFOO and external bankers to support and execute on capital requirements for hipages.

Your CV:

As a Strategy and M&A professional, ideally from an investment bank, or from a corporate/strategy environment, your experience includes

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; an MBA would be an asset;
  • 8-12 years experience in Strategy and M&A;
  • Someone who is entrepreneurial in orientation, as well as having a client-service mentality; must be able to excel under pressure, as well as meet short deadlines;
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft powerful and engaging messages that inspire others;
  • Strategic thinker (“futurist outlook”) coupled with ability to roll up sleeves;
  • Proven experience in strategy formulation, complex organizational wide problem solving, due diligence, and financial/forecast modeling; 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, consult, build consensus, and communicate priorities and expectations.
