The Role

Customer’s expectations about how businesses communicate with them is changing, it’s no longer just about one-way communications, that’s where you come in. Your team is tasked with building out what “conversations” will look like to customers and to businesses alike. This means communicating outside of just traditional one-way email and SMS messages and tapping into conversational communications channels that customers are already highly engaged with.

Technically, this means designing and building a performant UI with great UX to help customers navigate and interact with their conversations.  You will need to work closely with other key teams to define service boundaries and plan long-term architecture.

As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for driving the forward momentum of your team, designing systems architecture, planning the roadmap and working with other teams to define service boundaries.  You will also help hire, grow and coach your team members to give them career progression and a great working life at Whispir.

The Tech

We have a burgeoning Javascript/Typescript codebase for our newer software - both on the frontend (React) and our backend.  We also have a legacy Java EE stack that we’re evolving and factoring away from.  

You will know at least one of these ecosystems and one or two others to a deep level. You should be familiar with various AWS cloud services such as EC2, EKS, MSK, RDS, Lambda.  Experience with automation tools (such as terraform, cloudformation) and CI/CD processes is a must.
