Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity, assuming candidates have eligible working rights and a sufficient timezone overlap with their team. As our offices re-open, Atlassians can choose to work remotely or return to an office, unless it’s necessary for the role to be performed in the office. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.

At Atlassian, our mission is to unleash the power of every team, and now we are looking to unleash the power of our own! We’re looking for a senior product designer to spearhead the design effort on new internal products that aim to empower and multiply the impact of our engineering teams. With a mission to unlock the power of people (and we’re scaling fast), the impact of your work will be felt across all of Atlassian.

Our Cloud Infrastructure team are embarking on a journey to create a new internal Product with a mission to create more cohesive tooling interfaces for our engineering teams. Insights Hub is in the early stages of planning and needs a designer who’s comfortable being a true trailblazer, who’ll seize the opportunity to join the definition stage to drive design from discovery to delivery and beyond.

You will collaborate with teams across Atlassian consisting of product managers, designers, engineers and architects to bring this vision to life. Your unique skills and toolkit will help bring empathy for our customers and drive more clarity to our decisions, processes & tools. You will be deeply involved in the entire design process from helping define vision and strategy through to final execution.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Drive design for new internal products with an end-to-end product design process, stretching from discovery, through execution, to measuring impact
  • Develop an understanding of our users and their needs through user research, experimentation, workshopping, or sketching/visualisation
  • Facilitate workshops with designers, engineers, product managers and customers to establish project scope and potential solutions to the identified problems in the most effective way.
  • Work on complex and technical engineering concepts, streamlining and bringing order to chaos.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineering & Program Management to develop a shared vision and deliver highly impactful optimisations to our huge team.

  • On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • Extensive hands-on professional experience as a UX Designer or Product Designer
  • A passion for design thinking methods with a deep understanding and a high degree of empathy for the people who experience your work
  • Strong research knowledge. You can define what user research needs to be done (and you're excited to do some yourself) and use existing research findings in your work
  • Strong facilitation, communication and collaboration abilities, a flexible and friendly approach to working with teams, and the attitude to always strive for the best outcomes
  • The ability to communicate your design at different levels of fidelity, from paper to the final pixel
  • Experience prototyping your designs
  • Bonus points for:
  • Experience using Service Design as a means of improving end-to-end experiences
  • More about our benefits

Whether you work in an office or a distributed team, Atlassian is highly collaborative and yes, fun! To support you at work (and play) we offer some fantastic perks: ample time off to relax and recharge, flexible working options, five paid volunteer days a year for your favourite cause, an annual allowance to support your learning & growth, unique ShipIt days, a company paid trip after five years and lots more.
