To support our growth, Swyftx is searching for a Team Engineering Manager will be leading and growing our engineering organisation, influencing our business-critical architecture and engineering practices, and guiding our culture and long-term technology decisions.

About the opportunity:

With our continued growth we're looking to expand our presence in Sydney and this role gives the perfect candidate the opportunity to drive this. The Team Engineering Manager is crucial to building the engineering vision, culture, and technical roadmaps across our teams at Swyftx - with a strong focus on building our quickly evolving mission-critical systems that form the roots of our quickly growing global business.

What you’ll do:

  • Use your experience as a leader to help us build world-class engineering teams that focus on scalability, flexibility and resilience whist supporting a positive impact on the team.
  • You’ll contribute to strategy, planning, and execution of complex technical projects, and cross group initiatives while empowering your teams to collaborate on strategic initiatives, achieve their goals and meet delivery expectations.
  • Build our first cross-functional team in Sydney with a focus on delivering high-quality software that is secure, robust and scalable at a consistent cadence.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, growth, education, mentorship, and development throughout the team.
  • Help with the over view of tech input with a strong focus on the people side, training and growth development of teams.

About you:

  • Extensive experience as a people leader who develops an engineering culture that leads to high-performing, self-sufficient teams while having deep understanding of the technical aspects of engineering excellence.
  • Experience delivering platform architecture at a large scale (software, architecture, API design etc) coupled with a solid understanding of modern software development practices (agile) and lifecycles.
  • Have been in a position where you've made code decisions, architectural choices & solutions in a past life.
  • Interested in the local software engineering community, engaging in community events and encouraging your teams to do the same.
  • Ability to track and monitor data, metrics and security, with familiarity in data security, data privacy, compliance, risk management and performance metrics.
