Within this role, you will work closely with our Head of Reputation Communications. You’ll join the team responsible for Xero’s external reputation communications, and you’ll help to execute strategies and plans within Xero’s global communications team.

About the role

  • Manage live issues and crises that impact Xero customers, partners and the Xero brand
  • Work on proactive and reactive positioning of Xero on topics that are key to supporting our reputation globally
  • Continue implementing  a cross-organisation system to manage issues to help mitigate brand exposure including understanding of ISO standards and global compliance of organisational data security
  • Maintain close working collaboration with Xero’s communications, technology, legal, security and marketing teams based around the world
  • Manage multiple projects and stakeholders while delivering and implementing strategies and plans
  • Utilise media measurement tools to provide outreach analysis and guidance 
  • Effectively be able to simplify technical and complex concepts and terminology to be understood across a wide audience
  • What you’ll do

  • What you’ll bring

  • Minimum 10 years of direct communications experience in-house at a listed company 
  • Proven expertise in corporate communications delivering communications strategies for large companies
  • Understanding of financial markets, technology and global businesses
  • A focus on delivering business results, and responding with urgency on important matters
  • Great stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Ability to thrive under high pressure situations
  • Passion for success of small business and technology
  • Successful candidates will need to take a cross-organiszational view to help successfully manage business stakeholders and the business’ external brand. They will also understand global data security compliance in countries and cyber-security exposures (GDPR - UK, Notifiable Data Breach - Australia).
