Moodle with us! Find out about your new workplace

Moodle is the world’s most trusted online learning solution. The engine of our ecosystem is Moodle LMS, the secure and customisable open source learning management platform used by over 250 million learners worldwide. Developed in conjunction with our community, Moodle LMS is complemented by an ecosystem of products including Moodle Workplace and a network of partners and services providing hosting, customisations and support. We also teach and support educators to create effective online learning experiences and share open education resources. Collectively, we empower educators to improve our world.

We’ve built a passionate team of hard-working and driven people from all over the world, united by a shared belief in the ability of our platform to make a positive difference to our world. We respect our colleagues and value an open and innovative workplace, filled with integrity and of course a strong focus on education (yes, these are our company values!)

What your new job can look like

This is a brand new role we’ve created to support our commitment to crafting a fantastic user experience across all of our products. This role will initially report directly to the CEO, and will be tasked with building Moodle’s UX design system, establishing principles, frameworks and best practices for the organisation.

With a combination of strategy, process development, user research and some hands on design responsibilities, this is a key role that will bring together a range of stakeholders and help define the future of UX at Moodle.

Beyond this, most days will involve a mix of:

  • Leading a UX guild of designers across our product teams, sharing knowledge and promoting best practice
  • Collaborating with the CEO and Product Managers on the development and execution of a UX roadmap that addresses new customer and revenue growth opportunities head-on
  • Establishing UX principles and frameworks that guide the overall Moodle Product UX process
  • Designing innovative solutions, communicating the rationale behind design decisions, and generating buy-in from team members, community, and other stakeholders.
  • Optimising and scaling the design system to the latest design standards and modern UI patterns.
  • Improving the usability of Moodle by incorporating experimental and observational research methods to guide the design, development, and refinement of Moodle products.
