Technical Program Manager (TPM) is a new role within Freelancer that will work closely with senior managers and product development teams to help usher projects end-to-end through the product development lifecycle, keep release schedules on track, manage risks, coordinate cross-team dependencies and clearly communicate goals to teams and project stakeholders alike. TPMs will be expected to use their strong technical background and project delivery experience to help teams achieve optimal velocity and quality by applying software development best practices. As a pioneering member of this team, you will have the opportunity to significantly shape the parameters by which this new function works towards the goal of making Freelancer’s product delivery pipeline world-class.

  • MS/BS degree in Computer Science
  • At least 7 years of experience leading teams and delivering high quality software as a technical program manager or development manager.
  • Highly adept at using project management tools for creating/tracking schedules, managing risks, interdependencies and resources
  • Strong knowledge and experience in implementing software development best practices particularly around increasing velocity and software quality
  • Strong knowledge and experience in agile processes, particularly with Scrum and Kanban
  • Prior hands-on technical experience in software development and web technologies
  • Strong ability to effectively balance tradeoffs between technical, business and operational needs
  • Excellent people and negotiation skills with the ability to motivate and get the best outcome out of a diverse set of teams, individuals and personalities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
