Who is Karta?

We’re an early stage, Aussie-born, global fintech disruptor focused on opening up a world of possibilities for businesses seeking simple, seamless, all-in-one payments. What does this mean? We take the complexity out of gift cards, providing new ways to connect merchants and consumers.

Our start-up is well funded, and as we scale, we are bringing together a collective of like-minded people. Our platform is scalable globally and bolstered by a multi-year strategic partnership with Mastercard. Recognising the opportunity, CommBank formed a new strategic partnership with Karta in October 2021. With ground-breaking technology that simplifies gift cards for consumers and businesses, we are bringing together an amazing team of engineers globally.

  • Illustrating design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
  • Developing UI mock-ups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and what they will look like
  • Creating original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables)
  • Preparing and presenting rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Identifying and troubleshooting UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
  • Conducting layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Adhering to style standards on fonts, colours and images
  • Keeping abreast of competitor products and industry trends
  • Thinking ahead and working with excellent time management and prioritisation skills, in line with our key milestones or plans
  • Designing processes to achieve business objectives with a view to driving high performance and efficiency
  • Managing complicated design projects, with limited supervision, from initial request to presenting results, ensuring each project is completed accurately, on-time in line with the Company goals
  • Being an advocate. For ‘Karta’, and for ‘Special’, for our people and for our values

What you can demonstrate

  • Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role
  • Demonstrated delivery experience, with a portfolio of design projects
  • Extensive knowledge of wireframe tools
  • Strong analytical and requirement gathering skills
  • Ability to make effective recommendations
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Team spirit, with strong communication skills, written and oral, to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Good time-management skills
  • Driven, articulate self-starter who doesn't require much direction
  • Ability to meet agreed deadlines and targets under pressure
  • Exposure to large scale and global growth, or the ability to work across multiple locations and time zones

Your technical expertise

  • Highly developed skills in technologies such as Figma, Adobe Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
