We are looking for a Hardware / Mechatronics Engineer to join our Perth based R&D team with strong creative and Mechatronics design skills. You will be working with a highly skilled team of Mechatronic Engineers designing and building our subsea robotics and navigation products.

Main duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design mechatronic hardware and products to a high professional standard
  • Present creative input into process improvement and product design
  • Debugging and testing of products and prototype designs to ensure conformance with design requirements
  • Participation in workshop and field-located R&D tests
  • Collaborate closely with the software,  firmware and mechanical teams
  • Generate accurate, succinct documentation as required, including test plans and functional descriptions
  • Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Be degree qualified in an engineering discipline, preferably mechatronics or electronics with a strong mechanical focus.
  • Have 3+ years of engineering experience 
  • Have experience with all stages of the product development cycle, concept development, R&D, design and planning
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Willingness to get your hands dirty on design, testing and modifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management, driven to work quickly
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Desirable Skills:

  • Marine survey or subsea instrumentation product experience
  • Familiarity around vessels
  • Have previously been involved with a team that delivered a product to market
  • Experience in Navigation or Subsea robotics
  • Survey instrumentation operation
