The Opportunity

We are looking for a junior Migration Agent to join our busy Immigration practice in Sydney. You will support and work closely with the Practice Leader on all Immigration matters. You will work with a range of corporate clients and high-profile individuals in relation to employer sponsored work visas (subclass 482, 494 and 186), labour agreements, global talent visas, training visas and business innovation and investor visas. You will also work with private clients in relation to family migration, and refused and cancelled visas. 
This full time role is ideal for a Sydney based Registered Migration Agent in their first year of practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with client enquiries, collection of documents, drafting submissions, data checking, preparation of forms and applications.
  • Prepare a range of applications – employer sponsored visas, business visas, global talent visas, permanent residency visas etc.
  • File management – ensure client spreadsheets and information/records are kept up-to-date and accurate by maintaining client folder as per compliance standards.
  • Conduct legal research with reference to the Migration Act, legislative provisions, regulations, policy and case law.
  • Liaise with clients over the phone, email and in-person, assist with their enquiries and provide updates on their applications.
  • Attend client consultations and prepare file notes and follow up emails.
  • Write articles on latest migration law developments.
  • Monitor pending applications.
  • Develop processes, systems and templates and manage their efficiency.
  • The Ideal Candidate

  • You are a Registered Migration Agent with 6-12 months of experience in a reputable firm.
  • You have a genuine interest in Australian Migration Law and want to further your career in the area.
  • Experience using Migration Manager software is highly desirable.
  • Experience with preparing a range of visa applications.
  • Solid understanding of the legislative provisions underpinning the Australian visa system.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Highly organised and proactive.
  • Excellent English language skills – written and spoken. If you speak another language, that is also desirable.
