Reporting to the VP of Product Management, this role will facilitate the gathering and communication of requirements between stakeholders and the engineering teams. Your main task will be to include performing detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes and communication of findings. To succeed in this role you should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users.A large part of this role is working with stakeholders to elicit problem statements and detailed requirements and to be able to communicate this to the engineering teams.

What You'll Be Doing
Develop & maintain product development process and gating criteriaBuild & manage cross-functional product development core teamsCollaborate closely with technology teams to provide clear direction on Agile product backlog, epic and user story requirements, and feature deliveryDescribe and write product requirements through personas and use case developmentLead definition of allowable configurations, test cases and execute UATDrive detailed product definition for Megaport product featuresServe as the subject matter expert and evangelist for the productIdentify improvements to existing product processes; develops a strong understanding of processes and technologyCompletes ad-hoc assignments that assist in the development of product strategy and roadmapUnderstands business value and can verify business value is delivered from the team.Designs product training curriculum; participates in cross-functional trainings and meetingsClearly express Product Backlog items in terms of business and customer value.Supports with backlogs, working regularly with the team to refine and add detail where neededCollaborates closely with technology teamsAccepts user stories as done based on acceptance criteria and definition of done.Drafts acceptance criteria and work with the team to refine and elaboratePrioritize backlog including features, bugs, enabler work, and tech debt.Manages stakeholder expectations within and/or across functionsIdentifies and proactively includes correct stakeholders and communications effectivelyWorks with Product Management and Team to define good confidence release deliverables for any given releaseWork closely with network architects and system architects to understand enabler work for new technology infrastructures.
What We Are Looking For
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related technical field (or equivalent) 5+ years of prior experience as a Technical Product Manager or a Technical Marketing Engineer in networking or related fieldA first-hand working knowledge of current data networking products and technologies, including Ethernet networking, IP, BGP routing, peering, firewalls, NAT, etc.Knowledge of API development and extending the API into the platform and productTrained in Agile development methodology with experience as product owner/backlog ownerProven experience in setting direction for technology teams, prioritizing development activities, and driving new product development investments in an organization using Agile methodologiesExcellent organizational and analytical skills with strong technical abilities and an extreme attention to detail and ability to self-audit workAbility to deliver high quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities. Ability to lead and manage a team to deliver business results.The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated proactive contributor and subject matter expert on team projects. Familiarity with business issues, or the ability to quickly learnExcellent verbal and written communication skills; presentation, customer service, business, and negotiation skills.
