We are 4 million users strong, with over $300M of job opportunities created this year in Australia and overseas. We’re making huge strides and we need your help as we accelerate to our mission!

We’re hard at work building a globally scalable platform that empowers people to realise the full value of their skills, no matter what they do. High performance is a given at Airtasker and our Finance team is no exception, partnering with the business by providing vital insights to support strategic decision making.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior FP&A Analyst to join our team. Reporting to the FP&A Lead, you will embed a culture of FP&A best practice within Airtasker. You will be responsible for reviewing, analysing and providing insight on financial information to key internal stakeholders, and supporting growth initiatives. You will be acting as a key business partner throughout the organisation, providing value-adding financial analysis in one of Australia’s fastest growing technology startups.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing month-end P&L analysis, through a strong understanding of the key relationships between performance metrics and the key drivers of revenue. Being able to articulate clearly the cause and effect of performance drivers to senior management as well as non-financial stakeholders.
  • Analyse financial data and identify trends to improve our forecasting accuracy and revenue recognition.
  • Business planning, budgeting and forecasting, including managing the corporate financial model with input from the accounting team.
  • Maintain a proactive partnership with the rest of the business, to support them with budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Developing a deep understanding of the businesses’ complex revenue streams and ensuring strong relationships with key finance & non-finance stakeholders.
  • Support the FP&A Lead in the semi-annual budgeting/capital allocation process, by coordinating and reviewing business cases from stakeholders.
  • Supporting management with Investor Relations presentations.
  • Identifying and developing process improvements as we continue to build a best in case FP&A function.
  • What we're are looking for:

  • Qualified CA, CPA or CIMA.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex corporate budgets, forecasts and reporting.
  • Experience building and maintaining best practice corporate financial models.
  • Strong commercial acumen - to be able to understand the customer journey and how this translates to our complex revenue streams.
  • The ability to concisely communicate financial information to a broad audience including the board level directors and non-financial colleagues.
  • Have a strong work ethic and desire to help drive efficiencies and improvements in reporting and analysis.
  • Dedication to continuous improvement with a passion for process optimisation.
  • Strong attention to detail. In particular, in the preparation of Board Packs and Shareholder Updates.
  • The ability to multi-task and respond quickly to changing demands in a fast growing environment.
  • Strong work ethic with a curiosity and a burning desire to understand what makes things tick.
  • On our wishlist:

  • Training within a Big 4 professional services firm.
  • Experience in the Technology space or other high growth environments.
  • Experience with using Tableau.
  • If you would like to be surrounded by people who are passionate about their craft and working towards a mission. If you would like to work in a data informed culture, you will enjoy the conversation with us and the people you meet through the process. We are excited to learn more about you!
