Who We Are Looking For

Reporting into the Finance Business Partner - Sales, Marketing and Strategy, we are looking for a Senior Commercial Analyst to provide commercial support and advice to the Category Management Team. A successful candidate will be highly numerate and be comfortable immersing themselves in data and pulling valuable information out of our systems, then creating reports, financial models and writing summaries to provide rich insights to stakeholders, that in turn leads to decisions and action .

A highly analytical mind with a structured manner of thinking, together with a high level of curiosity and proactiveness and strong communication skills will prove critical to success in this role.

Tasks & Duties

  • Working closely with the Finance Business Partner - Sales, Marketing & Strategy, you will partner with a  number of key stakeholders including the Planning Director, Chief Category Officer and Category Managers, Company Planning Team, Trade Team and the Growth and Business Development Team
  • Take the lead on value-add insight on company, category, promotional performance and analysis of KPIs
  • Support Company Planning to drive promotional effectiveness
  • Liaise with the Category Management and Marketing teams to lead alignment in Demand and Supply forecasting
  • Play a central role in the annual budget, forecasting and  mid-term planning processes
  • Liaise with the Company Planning department to analyse current and forecast trade, with a focus on driving forecast accuracy
  • Prepare Category, Department and Product profitability analysis and forecasting
  • Identification of risks and opportunities to budget/forecast
  • Monthly dashboard reporting to stakeholders
  • Creation and automation of reports and models
  • Be the Finance lead on a number of cross-functional projects, strategy and growth initiatives
  • Ad hoc general financial planning analyses/tasks

  • Advanced Excel skills and financial modelling skills
  • Experience with Tableau or similar analytics tool
  • Highly analytical, with an ability to work with multiple data sources
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on data accuracy
  • SQL experience is a plus
  • Experience in retail or online industry experience (preferred)
  • 4-6 years experience in a similar finance or commercial role
  • CA or CPA qualification preferred
