Your Opportunity

The Growth Product Manager (SEO) is responsible for leading organic search initiatives across both sides of the hipages marketplace (B2C consumers and B2B tradies), with a core FY23 focus being on driving an increase in the volume of home improvement jobs posted to our platform.

Organic search has been one of the fundamental growth pillars of hipages’ to date and continues to be a pivotal channel for the business, however there is still much more to be realised from SEO activity, making this position both critical and exciting role within the marketing team.

How you will add value:

  • Develop and deliver a best-in-class SEO growth marketing strategy for hipages
  • Work directly with engineers, designers and data analysts to drive SEO projects and CRO experimentation from the planning stages all the way through to delivery
  • Lead SEO colleagues in both Sydney and Manila to ensure initiatives are delivered on time and business objectives are met
  • Coordinate strategies with SEM colleagues to execute a harmonious search marketing program and help balance both job and tradie demand in the marketplace
  • Work closely with colleagues in PR to maximise our media coverage and identify where new backlink opportunities may be available to us
  • Research ongoing SEO content requirements and help advise on briefs for content production
  • Conduct regular technical SEO audits and spot checks to address any issues or opportunities
  • Submit and own SEO related development tickets raised with engineers
  • Manage the creation of systems and processes to advance our SEO capabilities
  • Continual monitoring and reporting of our organic search performance against KPIs

About You:

  • Experience in driving and delivering upon high performing SEO campaigns
  • Highly proficient in all aspects of SEO at an enterprise level
  • Experience in scoping and running CRO experiments
  • Previously worked in fast-paced B2B, subscription or marketplace-based businesses (highly desirable, but not required)
  • Experience working cross-functionally between different business departments and managing external service providers
  • Lives and breathes the latest SEO trends, industry updates and algorithm changes to help inform a robust SEO growth roadmap
  • Experience in a range of SEO and data specific tools and platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMRush, AHREFs, Screaming Frog, Botify, Advanced Web Ranking, Looker, Snowplow, etc.
  • Experience with agile project management processes and systems such as JIRA

What success looks like in this role

In the first 3 months you will have:

  • A firm understanding of the SEO capabilities and opportunities at hipages, specifically for the Consumer side of the business
  • Implementation of a range of technical SEO and content initiatives
  • At least one successful CRO experimentation project for improving organic job volumes

In the first 6 months you will have:

  • A range of SEO initiatives that are delivering consumer jobs volumes against the target
  • Significant inroads into driving jobs in our key market segments
  • A content marketing calendar to target consumer engagement and organic traffic generation

Longer-term opportunities 

  • To lead on all hipages' unpaid acquisition activity, outside of just SEO, including a focus on jobs growth and app adoption
