Who we are looking for
We’re currently recruiting for an Associate Director, Strategy & Operations. It’s a multifaceted and diverse role working across the entire business focusing on delivering the best experience for our clients. The role requires interfacing with clients and understanding their needs to shape a solution through to identifying and resolving internal bottlenecks and process improvements.

In this critical leadership role reporting in the CEO, you will work closely with other leaders to deliver commercial success and exceed our global growth targets. Working in a small start-up team provides a unique opportunity to be able to learn very fast from those around you and help build a team from the ground up.

You have
5+ years of experience, preferably in a high growth, strategic business environment
Superb analytical and problem solving skills
Strengths in leading multi-disciplinary teams to achieve success
A proactive approach to identifying projects worth investing in
Experience in delivering strategic initiatives across multiple clients
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Strong stakeholder management skills
A great sense of humour
Experience working across all aspects of the development lifecycle
Experience working in financial services and a high growth environment is ideal
A passion for solving complex problems and guiding teams to successfully deliver beyond expectations
An energetic approach to life and work
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

You will
Work with the leadership team to develop strategy that will enhance growth plans
Identify strategic opportunities within the customer base to enhance user experience
Collaborate across teams to ensure the best outcomes for customers and the business
Create strategic roadmaps and manage critical commercial initiatives to fruition

What success looks like
In your first month, we will give you the full induction so that you understand the company culture and meet all of your cross-functional partners. We will ensure that you have all the tools that you need to be successful. You will also spend quite a bit of this time working with Simon, the CEO so that you have a full understanding of FrankieOne’s mission and vision.

We will give you a full view of where the key problems are that we need to solve and ask you to build a roadmap and begin tackling the key challenges.

The team
You will be reporting to Simon Costello, FrankieOne’s CEO. Simon initially started his career in investment banking though has since successfully founded 3 further startups across Europe (, Asia ( and Australia (, collectively raising over $200m in capital. Simon is a bit of a hippy at heart, rides his bicycle everywhere, lives in the North and his pride and joy is his vegetable patch and wormery.

You’ll be working closely with Aaron Chipper, FrankieOne’s CTO. Aaron has been programming since the age of 7 and has spent the majority of his career either working in or with startups. He spent 20 years building mobile and social payments networks across the globe and was part of the team that sold Fusion Payments to Telstra. When not wrangling 1’s and 0’s, Aaron like to work in his orchard or with his bees.

You’ll also be working closely with Mark Powell, FrankieOne’s CFO/COO. Mark Powell joined FrankieOne as the first employee and has worn many hats as the company has grown over the last 2 years. Before joining, Mark spent 11 years in investment banking roles in Sydney and New York, and brings a breadth of experience across finance, operations and leadership roles.

The full-time role will be based in our Docklands, Melbourne office. As mentioned above, we have a flexible work-from-home policy though we are in the office on Wednesdays and Fridays as a minimum so we can maintain our vibrant office culture and use these days for team collaboration / problem solving.
Our interview process will involve a series of interviews with the senior management team at FrankieOne.
