Brighte’s Legal team exists to provide innovative legal services that fast track Brighte to making every home sustainable. We want someone to join us and contribute to our vision to be the most commercial, agile, accessible and value adding legal function in the tech ecosystem. As Brighte grows, so does our legal function and we’re someone who is happy to help scale our legal operations

What you'll do

  • You’ll be part of a team of 3 and a trusted advisor to the business and external stakeholders
  • You’ll be a contract expert - drafting, reviewing and negotiating them
  • You’ll provide guidance on various aspects of the law such as the NCCPA, ACL and national energy regulations
  • You’ll be our subject matter expert on privacy matters
  • You’ll assist the Company Secretary with Board and governance related matters
  • You’ll identify new projects that add value to the business and drive them to completion
  • You’ll produce and deliver training to the business where needed or where you have an interest or expertise
  • You’ll assist our energy business to grow and scale
  • Who you are

  • A different kind of lawyer. You’re not satisfied with firm work and want to get your hands into business, working with stakeholders directly and creating value for a company
  • You’ve got at least 3 years PQE in corporate, regulatory, banking, tech, consumer, compliance, risk or legal ops
  • One or more of retail energy, consumer law and or NCCPA expertise very favourable
  • You’re a privacy expert or are willing to upskill in that area
  •  commerciality
  • You’ll be comfortable with change - lots of it. Start ups are very dynamic environments - you’ll thrive on constant changes both micro and macro and be willing and excited to adjust and adapt
  • Your communication and interpersonal skills will be stellar, and you’ll have a detailed oriented mindset but also be able to see the big picture
  • You’ll have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
