You will be working in an exciting startup environment in a rewarding industry sector and will have the opportunity to greatly influence Lumary's technical strategy whilst supporting and promoting excellence in development performance. 
As the Director of Engineering, you will lead and mentor a team of skilled developers, collaborate with senior managers and leadership team, influence and ensure success in carrying out the engineering strategy.

Working closely with the CTO, your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage a team of up to 10 developers ( direct reports)
  • Meet with direct reports on a regular basis to discuss projects, tasks, performance, goals, training opportunities, etc.
  • Establish metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement.
  • Participate and contribute to the performance review program of direct reports i.e. provide honest and constructive feedback about performance, provide support, identify training opportunities, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring the product vision is realised through excellence in execution
  • Responsible for preparing, managing and optimising engineering department budget i.e. headcount, consulting spend, prototyping costs, equipment costs, training, benefits, etc.
  • Responsible for co-developing the technical strategy with the CTO and senior team members
  • Develop and maintain a technical roadmap that will continue to innovate from a technical standpoint
  • Stay up to date with the latest Salesforce releases as well as other trends in technologies in the market
  • About you

  • Understanding of programming concepts and paradigms
  • Understanding of relational databases
  • Ability to clearly communicate with team members
  • 10+ years industry experience and 5+ years experience leading a team
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent in knowledge and experience)
  • Experience in software design and developing customer-orientated software
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
  • Prior experience interviewing and building own team.
