Due to growth over the past year and a strong demand for services, we are looking for a Principal Software Engineer join our team.


One of the primary objectives of this position includes the leading the design, development, testing, deployment, support and maintenance of platforms critical to Moneytech Group clients.


We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer who will report to Software Engineering Manager in the following role.


The responsibilities of this position includes:


  • Leading the delivery of key areas of functionality as part of the agile engineering team.
  • Designing, developing, debug, test, deploying, support, and maintain program code for critical finance, payments digital platforms, API’s and UIs in a fast-moving and regulated environment.
  • Improving the performance of existing software.
  • Providing training, technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers.
  • Set, maintain and increase engineering standards and patterns.
  • Recommending new technologies that can help increase productivity and stay current with industry best practice.
  • Regularly attending team meetings to discuss projects, brainstorm ideas and propose solutions.
  • Assisting the Software Engineering Manager with supervising and overseeing the technical design & implementation aspects of projects.
  • Assisting the Software Engineering Manager on the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and CI/CD.


The successful candidate will have the following:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Banking, and financial industry experience is advantageous or willingness to learn is key
  • 10+ years professional experience in software development and delivery.
  • Understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented development techniques using RESTful interfaces across micro-services and/or stateless functions.
  • Understanding of relational databases, especially Microsoft SQL Server technologies. Experience with non-relational database technologies is advantageous.
  • Expert knowledge of .NET technologies and C#.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services. Experience with other cloud services is advantageous.
  • Understanding of the requirements in designing and developing enterprise grade software, especially finance or payments systems.
  • Experience with source control management systems and continuous integration / deployment environments with source control systems such as Git.
  • Knowledge of front-end development technologies such as React or Angular 2+ with Typescript is advantageous.
  • Understanding of Agile SCRUM methodology.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools, particularly JIRA and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of computer networking and information security requirements for a regulated environment.
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly.
