Who You Will Be Working With

The Dubber AI Centre of Excellence consists of experienced machine learning and signal processing engineers and researchers.  We work in close coordination with product managers, designers and engineering teams across Dubber to deliver innovative AI technologies that transform captured conversations into business value.  

The Opportunity

To support the growth of our Dubber AI Centre of Excellence we are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer with a focus on Speech Technology.  You will be working on a variety of applied machine learning tasks involving speech and audio processing with particular focus on content from meetings. The role will cover the spectrum from research of new algorithms through to deploying these at scale for use in products and solutions.  

About You

We are looking for a motivated, passionate individual, excited about solving complex problems and driven to make our customers smile. 

The ideal candidate has several years experience working in applied machine learning on relevant problems in natural language, such as text classification and summarisation.  Familiarity with related speech and audio processing technologies such as voice activity detection, speaker identification, etc, is also desirable. You will be capable of researching new algorithms as well as addressing practical considerations such as latency, memory and processing load.  We are looking for someone who is constantly curious, motivated to see problems through and invested in staying up to date with the latest advancement in the field.  While we would prefer candidates who can be available to work in our Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney office, we are open to consider remote work arrangements for the right person.


  • Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics.
  • 3-5+ years relevant work experience.
  • Domain knowledge in applying state-of-the-art machine learning and signal processing to conversational speech and audio tasks.
  • Sound understanding of machine learning theory and experience using common ML libraries such as PyTorch.
  • Python and C/C++ software development and testing on Linux systems.
  • DevOps familiarity is desirable.

Not essential, but preferred 

  • Domain knowledge in applying state-of-the-art machine learning to natural language tasks.
