SafetyCulture is looking for a Financial Accountant to join our growing finance team. You will be working on the day-to-day aspects of SafetyCulture and EdApp's global accounting operations including owning the Income Statement and Balance Sheet as well as month-end accounting and reporting. This role will also be involved in a wide variety of projects around process improvement and transformation as we continue to grow.

You will have the opportunity to gain experience working at the headquarters of a fast growing tech company with huge exposure and opportunity to make and support decisions that have a big impact on the growth of the business.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce or finance
  • 2 - 3 years work experience in a commercial business or financial practice
  • Attention to detail with an ability to multitask and prioritise tasks
  • Advanced Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc) skills
  • Proactive and enthusiastic attitude with a focus on making things better
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Desirable CA/CPA qualified or progress towards would be highly regarded
  • Experience in a SaaS or high-growth technology business
  • Experience with Netsuite, Hubspot, Tableau and Salesforce
  • How you will spend your time?

  • Managing income statement and balance sheet accounts and related processes such as revenue, OPEX, fixed assets, prepayments and inter company
  • Processing month-end journals and assisting with month-end close
  • Preparing reporting for month-end and for other areas of the business such as Sales and Marketing
  • Working with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement, standardisation and/or automation
  • Business partnering with the Sales and People team
  • Ad-hoc involvement in wider finance team projects
