Our 'Willow World' is fast-paced, nurturing and collaborative.

Summary of Role:
This is a rare opportunity for a Lawyer seeking an impactful role in a fast-growing company.
We are looking for a first-class professional with initiative, drive and a willingness to roll up their sleeves. This role will give you the opportunity to be more than just a legal advisor – the successful candidate will proactively seek out ways to improve the legal function and the broader business as Willow scales. Having just raised $58 million in a pre-Series B funding round, Willow is experiencing exponential growth which is creating huge opportunities for talented people in our team to get involved in new and exciting projects globally.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for providing and managing legal advice to cross-functional teams. You will work closely with, and report to, the Head of Legal.
  • Help negotiate deals to help the business grow in Australia and internationally with blue-chip clients. This includes ‘internal’ contracts that will help Willow scale and grow, and ‘external’ contracts with our customers.
  • Be flexible and able to prioritise competing priorities under time pressure.
  • Develop maturity to balance business goals with legal risks in line with the business’ risk appetite.
  • Translate complex legal issues into succinct and clear advice to enable quick and easy decision making by stakeholders.
  • Work with a dedicated world-class team that look after each other.
  • Most importantly, have the opportunity to help grow a thriving Australian start-up into a globally recognised market leader.
  • Skills & Experience Required:

  • 4+ years PQE and be admitted to practise as a solicitor in Australia with a current practising certificate.
  • Strong experience in a well-regarded law firm and/or in-house business, preferably in commercial contracts and / or TMT and the digital space.
  • Experience dealing with Australian labour law and global privacy laws is a bonus (but not essential).
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and sound judgement in managing complex and sensitive matters.
  • If you are eager to work in a fast-paced, high growth tech start-up based on collaboration and open communication, then Willow could be the place for you. We at Willow never give up, we work smart, we care about our fellow human beings, and we always put our best foot forward.

Willow is proudly diverse. We work to create an equitable and inclusive experience for candidates and employees, where people from different backgrounds have an opportunity to succeed. Join us in our mission to digitise the built world!
