Zip is currently looking to hire for the position of ‘Web Designer (UX research)’ in Sydney CBD. Reporting into the UXR Lead, you’ll play a key role in shaping our web design in our ultimate quest to become a truly customer-centric business. 

The UXR team is essentially across two roadmaps – the generative research roadmap, which encompasses projects that will deliver long-term value through customer insights. And the product roadmap – which encompasses discovery research, and supporting product designers achieve their research goals.

This is a full-time position with an annual salary of between $100,000 to $140,0000 (negotiable) on offer.

Role related responsibilities:

  •  Design and conduct studies that inform product concepts; translate data into results that have a clear, direct impact on design, product, and operations
  • Design and conduct mix-method research studies for all phases of a launch testing-cycle in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Facilitate the product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and rapid prototypes
  •  Advise design and product team on research opportunities and best practices at various stages of the product concept process
  •  Facilitate moderated and unmoderated user-testing sessions
  • Strike the right balance between holistic experience design and detail-oriented execution and evangelise this approach
  • Know technology and emergent UX patterns, and design for changing consumer behaviours and preferences
  • Design and conduct mix-method research studies for all phases of a launch testing-cycle in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Contribute to growing a user-centered design practice. Work collaboratively to design innovative, on-brand solutions that meet measurable customer needs, business requirements and goals

    • Skills and experience necessary:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent employment experience
  • Strong web design skills in UX and UI
  • A strong understanding of interaction design, visual design and user experience.  
  • 2+ years web designer experience designing high quality interfaces, experiences and UX research
  • Have understanding of agile methodology and works will in rapid experimentation and continuous launch environment
  • Have a solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns. 
  • Experience of web design and conduct mix-method research studies in a fast-paced startup or fintech environment
