The role & the team

The Business Development Representative (BDR) Team Lead plays a vital role within the Commercial team, overseeing the development and execution of sales strategies while nurturing team performance. This position is instrumental in guiding the BDR team toward fulfilling the company's overarching vision, maintaining alignment with company values, and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. Through proactive collaboration with cross-functional teams, the BDR Team Lead ensures the smooth implementation of sales initiatives, streamlines operations, and drives results-oriented growth.


Day to day

* Lead and manage the BDR team: Supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of Business Development Representatives to achieve individual and team targets.
* People leader: Lead people initiatives; engagement, performance check-ins, remuneration reviews, goal-setting, and feedback and coaching
* Training and development: Provide ongoing training, coaching, and support to BDRs to enhance their skills, knowledge, and performance.
* Performance monitoring: Monitor and analyse team performance metrics, such as lead generation, conversion rates, and pipeline growth, and provide regular performance reports to leadership.
* Process improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
* Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with other teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to align efforts and optimise results.
* Lead generation: Contribute to lead generation efforts by actively prospecting and qualifying leads to support the sales pipeline.
* Customer Relationship Management: Utilise CRM software, such as Salesforce to track, manage, and report on sales activities and customer interactions.
* Market research: Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
* Represent the Company: Serve as a brand ambassador for the company, representing our values and maintaining a positive image in all interactions


Our ideal Shippster
2+ years of experience in sales or business development, preferably in the software/technology industry.Proven track record of success in inbound and outbound sales, as well as pipeline generation. Previous experience in a team lead or manager role, with a strong ability to motivate and develop a team.
