The hipages app & website connects Australian homeowners and tradies, ultimately making it easier for them to connect, communicate and get a home improvement job done well.  Over 3 million Australians have used hipages where a home improvement job is posted every 20 seconds!

How you make an impact:

You are our resident expert in all things Talent Development and will execute, reshape and deliver learning and development strategies, career pathways and unique programs that build hipages people’s capability and promotes our ethos of high performance and effective leadership.  In addition you will champion the future of work at hipages and look at new ways to embed and promote Talent Development within the business.

We invest significantly in the learning & development of our people  and in this role you will drive and support our People & Culture and business strategy through both hands-on learning delivery and curating best-in-class external learning resources and partners. 

You add value by: 

  • Executing  and reinvigorating the FY22 hipages talent development (TD) strategy and roadmap and developing the plan for FY23 and annually thereafter, ensuring alignment to business strategy and growth objectives.
  • Working closely with the P&C Leaders in Succession Planning and TD opportunities identified for our current and future talent.
  • Providing ongoing accelerated career coaching of individuals and our People Leaders across hipages.
  • Build on and deliver our leadership program which encompasses a diverse range of learning experiences. 
  • Become certified in the Gallup Strengths methodology and champion how we incorporate and embed strengths at hipages.
  • Develop and deliver our current L&D programs internally, including our leader network program, induction program, toastmasters etc.
  • Lead and execute our first hipages Women in Leadership program (due to be launched in Q1).
  • Support the implementation of a graduate program from a L&D perspective.
  • Support the Talent Acquisition team with assisting to identify Top Talent.
  • Support all of our Senior Leaders with team building, events and social activities.
  • Recruit then provide people leadership to one part-time talent development coordinator.

About you:

You show up everyday and energise everyone around you with your passion for people and their development. You are excited when standing in front of a crowd and facilitating any topic but also know when it is best to partner with external partners. You enjoy coaching others and ensuring all of the team has effective communication and change management skills. You stop at nothing to ensure our team is aware of what is available to them from a TD perspective and are motivated for continuous development. You work with your stakeholders to ensure you are delivering what the business needs and remaining agile and adaptable to work in the fast paced environment we call hipages.

  • Proven experience working as an L&D Manager.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of effective L&D techniques and various methods applied.
  • Proven consulting and analytical skills to develop pragmatic solutions that support business strategy.

Your Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business with a major in L&D or a Bachelor Degree in Training & Development/Education.
  • Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS Powerpoint, in particular) plus ideally experienced in using Google collaboration resources.
  • Highly technology literate - able to learn and use new systems fast.
  • Experience with an LMS to manage and evaluate capability programs.
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms.
