About the role

As a Payments Specialist, you will be working closely with our Head of Payment Solutions to support and drive process improvements across the loan sales process. You’ll also be involved in driving strategic initiatives to optimise processes across the wider business. 

By leveraging your strong technical knowledge and understanding, you will also strive to provide exceptional customer service and support to ensure complex queries and issues are resolved in a timely manner. Daily, you’ll also be involved in:

- Funding obligations by supporting daily loan settlement and disbursement functions across Wisr’s core product in line with operating policy and procedures.  
- Actioning daily receivables functions - this also involves the clearance and allocation of deposit funds, management of arrears positions and treatment of dishonours. 
- Supporting the 'Wisr App' monthly payout process.
- Supporting and improving monthly Aggregator and Broker commissions, including any clawback of commission. 
- Analysing and reconciling inflows and outflows of financial transactions ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
- Consistently striving for quality outcomes, understanding operational risk implicitly and taking the lead to identify potential risks and contribute to remediation actions.

About you

With the customer at the core of everything you do, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as an eye for detail and an analytical mindset. You are an Excel whiz with an advanced understanding of macros and how to evaluate large datasets to ensure accuracy. 

To be successful in the role, you’ll also have:

- Relevant Tertiary qualifications are highly desirable 
- 3+ years’ experience working within financial services or related industries
- Strong understanding of Australia’s banking and payments landscape (desirable but not essential)
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship skills 
- Dynamic and results driven with strong attention to detail 
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
- Advanced Excel skills and ideally exposure to accounting software
- Solid understanding of Operational Risk across transaction processing functions 
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly energized, proactive and a multi-tasker who is hands on and collaborative
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where change is constant
