The Site Reliability Engineering team ensures that Xero’s customers can have confidence in our platform, working closely with Xeros throughout the business to build a reliable experience for our customers.
We support teams operating services in production and develop products that help those teams deliver highly available and performant systems. Our products help by exposing valuable context, supporting coordination, and by making ownership decisions easier. We also support with on-call escalation and specialist reliability consulting.
As a Lead Engineer within the SRE team you will work to improve the availability, performance, and efficiency of software products at Xero. You’ll have deep technical expertise in distributed computing systems delivered using public cloud services, and a thorough knowledge of leading industry practices for building and operating highly available services. You’ll be a master of designing simple, flexible, and reliable software components, guiding the quality of designs and providing quality feedback on how to improve systems to meet reliability objectives.
You will contribute technical expertise and leadership as we scale our SRE enablement across Xero. You’ll model the standard for engineering excellence at Xero, supporting your team to grow their technical capability and improve development practices.
With your wide understanding of SRE practices you will contribute to the technical direction of all SRE products, helping improve our services by identifying gaps, promoting capability growth, discovering technical solutions to business problems and championing modern practices.
