🧐 Engineering Team Lead

As an Engineering Team Lead at Assignar, you are responsible for driving a highly performant and healthy team as well as coaching its members.

You will be the first hire with a Software Engineering background in your team! You will play huge role in shaping the team as it grows. Your team mission is to support our reporting and data analytics product line. You will work closely with our Director of Data who is the product manager for this team, Data Engineers, Data Analysts and UX designers. Since the team is small, you will be expected to be primarily hands on to start with, and less as the team expands.

👩‍💻Tech Stuff

  • Minimum 3 years professional experience as a Full Stack Engineer
  • Experience building complex SaaS applications
  • Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Back-end experience with in depth knowledge of a server based framework. We use Django. It’s fine if you don’t have Django experience, we’ll skill you up!
  • Hands on experience of JavaScript and using a modern front-end framework. We use React & TypeScript

👷‍♀️Leadership and Management

  • Lead an effective and engaged team
  • Foster team and individual growth
  • Hire and onboard new team members and mentoring of engineers
  • 1:1’s with team members where you will provide coaching and goal setting
  • Collaborate with our product team and members of your triad to plan and execute on our roadmap. You own the technical planning of your team’s work. You maintain an open discussion and visibility about in progress and future initiatives
  • You ensure that your team operates in an effective SCRUM framework
  • This isn’t a hands-off role. You’re still coding 70% of your time (this may vary)

  • An appreciation for Functional Programming
  • Experience in building Data Visualisations using tools like D3.js
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools
  • Experience leading a fully remote team
  • An AWS certification
