About the Role 

Due to some exciting internal transformation in the engineering group we have an exciting opportunity open to lead Kasada's Core Services team. In this role you will be able to help shape the roadmap for our Data Platform and therefore positively impact and enable the broader engineering group. 

Day to day you will lead the small but dynamic core services team helping them to realize their careers and continuing to shape an inclusive environment for all. This role is open Australia wide. We have offices in Melbourne and Sydney and this role can be fully remote or hybrid.

In this role you will

  • Coach, inspire and lead our Core Services Team
  • Contribute to building and implement our data platform strategy
  • Work closely with other engineering leaders to maintain a consistent approach to architecture 
  • Engage with, and managing expectations of key stakeholders
  • Work with data streaming systems such as AWS Kinesis, Confluent Kafka
  • Work with AWS and Kubernetes
  • Continue to build and contribute to an inclusive engineering culture 
  • About You

  • This is a unique role that would suit someone who has a real passion for data engineering and infrastructure as well as coaching and leading others:
  • You lead with empathy and have a passion for coaching and mentoring engineers 
  • You have a growth mindset and ‘strong opinions loosely held’ 
  • You are a systems thinker - you understand how the data platform strategy might impact the broader engineering strategy 
  • You have experience working with most of the following (advantageous): Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, Typescript (backend only) and Scala
