The Junior Production Engineer plays a key role in supporting Advanced Navigation to meet its quality targets. The Junior Production Engineer will work closely with both the Production Team and Engineering Teams to ensure new and existing products are managed and transitioned effectively.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Complete basic investigations into production failures and production delays, report results
  • Complete high-quality electronics assembly tasks (including calibration, soldering and cable assemblies etc.)
  • Support the Advanced Navigation Production Engineering team and R&D to identify and drive continuous improvement in the Perth Production Team
  • Assist with improving Urethane moulding technology and processes 
  • Liaise with R&D and propose solutions to resolve production issues
  • Complete basic repairs of defective or returned products
  • Support the Advanced Navigation Production Engineering team and R&D to identify and drive continuous improvement in the Production Team
  • Support R&D and Production in the assembly of prototype products 
  • Complete Verification & Validation testing of mechanical and electronic parts and report results
  • Deliver basic assembly training to Production Team Technicians
  • Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Electronics or Mechanical Engineering Degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Experienced in the assembly & fabrication of complicated multi part mechanical and electronic products 
  • Capable of upskilling quickly to develop deep technical capabilities in a challenging technical domain
  • Able to work collaboratively with local team in Perth and remotely with team in Sydney with a variety of stakeholders across the business, including R&D Engineers and Production Technicians
  • Strong, efficient communicator, written and verbal
  • Well developed, structured problem solving, fault finding and debugging skills
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to provide accurate technical documentation
  • Experience planning and scheduling your own work
