About the job

A rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team at Wisr, taking responsibility for the delivery of timely and accurate financial & management reporting aligned to defined reporting cycles. 

Working closely with our CFO and our Finance team, this role is an integral part of the team ensuring compliance with all state and federal statutory and regulatory requirements. This includes preparation of financial statements and ASX reporting.

Key responsibilities include

  • Production of accurate and timely management information including the preparation of month end and quarter end reporting and variance analysis (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and KPI reporting).
  • Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Assisting with producing the monthly board report and consolidated financial statements including ad-hoc analysis where required.
  • Assisting with any compliance requirements including ASIC and APRA reporting.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable – Review of expense claims and loading payments for authorisation as well as preparing monthly invoices and reconciliation.
  • Payroll administration, including the preparation of monthly payroll, payroll tax returns and workers compensation declarations.
  • Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register and review of Capital Expenditure.
  • Assisting with half-year and annual Audit and preparation of half-year and annual Financial Statements.
  • Assisting with development, implementation and review of finance policies and procedures.
  • About you

  • 4+ years’ experience in accounting, tax and financial reporting or other relevant experience, ideally in a Big 4/mid-tier accounting firm or financial services entity.
  • Experience with large data sets or financial modelling would be an advantage.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce or related field.
  • CA or CPA qualified ideal
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (you are an Excel whiz)
  • Experience with accounting and budgeting software packages.
  • Month-end reconciliation systems experience would be a plus.
