We’re aiming to establish greater clarity, improved collaboration and a culture of continual improvement.

● growing the Xero way of building world class product
● connecting the product organisation throughout Xero and to our customers

The environment of the Product organisation is quick, agile, and (in many cases) virtual so our ideal candidate would be a great “people person” who is familiar with modern product thinking. You will be able to demonstrate solid experience driving awareness and engagement, connecting people to vision, strategy and driving advocacy on benefits across multiple change initiatives. You’d demonstrate experience of techniques that empower and mobilise teams to iteratively tackle their own challenges and opportunities, avoiding misalignment, change friction and delays. Above all, you are a strategic thinker who can translate the strategic vision into a robust plan to help us all create a great change journey. 

What you'll do

  • You’ll own and evolve the change strategy which will be designed to drive immediate and positive change experiences
  • You’ll be an advocate for Xero Product Framework (XPF)
  • You’ll keep a close pulse on employee and stakeholder sentiment while proactively planning solutions that support people to adopt and adapt to new ways of working.
  • You’ll be tasked with visualising change impacts and helping our leaders to prioritise work and prepare their teams for change
  • You’ll consistently managing change impacts to prioritise creative interventions that ensure key Xeros are well equipped to champion our change efforts.
  • You will use a variety of tools and techniques to build change momentum and ensure we’re driving value with every stakeholder interaction.
  • You will work with hybrid teams who practice high levels of empathy, compassion and inclusiveness to embrace agile practices, such as daily stand-ups, continuous coordination and value planning via OKRs.
  • You will need to embrace social and informal communications channels to build advocacy and ensure Xeros understand what is needed from them.
  • You will be using your natural coaching skills to support individuals and teams across Xero change well. 
  • What you’ll bring with you

  • 5+ years in a project, change, agile or delivery role
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders
  • Previous experience building strategies and planning content
  • Previous experience as a team player in a cross functional or “matrix” environment
  • Evidence of leading teams to deliver successful and sustainable change 
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills
  • A good willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and get stuck into a variety of tasks
  • Amazing stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation and documentation skills
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Exceptional empathy and ability to understand people, especially during times of change where they may be uncomfortable.
  • Be calm under pressure.
  • Adaptable with your tools and frameworks to bring all sorts of “changes” to life.
