High performance is a given at Airtasker and our Finance team is no exception, partnering the business by providing vital insights to support strategic decision making. An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our growing team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will build a best practice reporting and control function that will be vital to support Airtasker’s strong product growth and international expansion.
What you'll do
Supporting the development of a best-in-class reporting and control functional by proactively identifying and delivering on improvement opportunities and providing coaching to the junior members of the finance team. Managing the General Ledger ensuring the accuracy of the numbers for both internal and external reporting.Own the month-end financial reporting process - this includes the production of P&L, reconcile Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements and Consolidations.Preparation of accurate and insightful management reports for senior executives and Board of Directors on a monthly basis. Day to day management of transactional finance.Ownership of process enhancement and automation initiatives with the aim to improve the accuracy and timeliness of financial information outputs. Manage the regulatory tax compliance process.Oversee the company audit process. Support the resolution process for complex financial and accounting matters, including business combinations, share-based payments etc.Support ASX reporting process including the preparation of half-year and annual financial statements. Support in establishing, refining and documenting financial control policies and procedures.Providing support in financial due diligence as required for capital raising, acquisitions and new ventures.
What it takes to be successful in this role:
CA/CPA qualified.6+ years relevant experience. Strong technical accounting knowledge with a passion for process optimisation. Dedication to continuous improvement, including research and adoption of new tools and systems to improve accuracy and automation.The ability to multi-task and respond quickly to changing demands in a fast-growing environment.Experience in providing hands-on coaching for more junior members of the finance team. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.Advanced problem solving and project management skills and a strong work ethic.Experience in working with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with all tax obligations.Ability to learn new concepts and technology quickly.Curiosity and a burning desire to understand what makes things tick.
