About the Role 

The Group Sales Director reports to the General Manager and is responsible for achieving the company’s annual revenue targets. Managing a team of sales consultants and for ensuring the company’s products and services are delivered to customers across the school, VET and higher education markets in Australia to achieve key objectives.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRA’s) – Role Specific 

The Group Sales Director responsibilities includes leading the engagement with the Higher Education sector and for the achievement of Good Universities Guide’s annual sales objectives which includes to;

  • Devise budget objectives for each of the markets that are stretching but achievable
  • Develop and execute retention and growth strategies that are measurable, efficient and maximise all opportunities for insight selling created by Good Education products and data;
  • Coach each sales consultant and work to establish and maintain a culture of strong product knowledge and efficient practises – this means:
    • Drive and exemplify best practice in the use of CRM platforms;
    • Demonstrate and encourage a deep understanding of how our products serve all market segments; 
    • Demonstrate commitment to selling in accordance with mandated products / packages and prices;
    • Striking the right balance between customer retention and new customer acquisition;
    • Work closely with colleagues across the broader Adventus organization to ensure a consistent and coherent presentation of the company’s strategy & values as well as  products & services.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and other senior colleagues on development of the annual revenue budget and forecasts when required.
  • Ensure achievement of the annual revenue budget.
  • Coach the sales team on effective and disciplined use of the nominated CRM. Ensure this is modelled effectively in the Sales Director’s own territory.
  • Coach the sales team on effective reporting of forecasts and opportunity pipeline. Ensure this is modelled effectively in the Sales Director’s own territory.
  • Work with the General Manager on the development of new products. This includes developing robust business cases to expand Good Education products into new markets.
  • Coaching the sales team with a view to developing a culture of insight, expertise, service, efficiency and best practice.


About You and what you need to succeed?

  • A successful track record in digital product selling, within a B2B or institutional environment. Experience in solution selling is highly desirable.
  • Experience in successfully managing senior level stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Proven track record in managing a sales team.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications. Experience in relevant CRMs such as Hubspot and Salesforce is desirable.
  • Strong negotiation and consultative sales skills. Understanding of current sales industry thinking/best practice is highly valued.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Attention to detail 
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, communications or equivalent/relevant experience is highly desirable.
