Role Purpose & Objective

As a hipages Engineering Manager for Tradiecore, you will develop, communicate, lead and execute our technology plans, with a focus on quality, scale and operational delivery. You will lead a team of engineers - they could be located either  locally or remotely.  You will be key to fostering the communication between technical and business teams, and providing strong leadership in delivering initiatives in our high–growth and agile environment.

  • Manage the delivery of the cross-functional teams and coach the team on agile practices,
  • Line management and personal development of a team of engineers,
  • Strengthen our culture of evolutionary technology practices, by drawing on your experiences to drive change,
  • Audit and pragmatically introduce best practice measurement, monitoring and automation,
  • Continuous evaluation of the Scalability and Performance of our apps and platform,
  • Actively contribute towards the evolution of our technology stack, to industry best practice,
  • Actively contribute towards the continuous improvement of developer toolsets and productivity,
  • Actively drive the team during ideation and implementation phases.

These are our must haves: 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience,
  • 1+ years of managing, mentoring and coaching engineers.

Technical Experience:

  • Deep knowledge and practical implementation of Agile methods,
  • Experience working with SaaS products,
  • Knowledge and understanding of Software Engineering Principles in practice such as CD/CI, Rapid Development, Test Automation and Monitoring and Alerting,
  • Understand the principles surrounding software architecture,
  • Understand the importance of a high quality, maintainable code base and have practical experience in delivering improvements to quality,
  • Capable of understanding, simplifying and explaining complex technical concepts.
