We have a rare and exciting opportunity to join our business and lead our fastest growing categories - Beauty & Home in the role of Buying Manager! Reporting to the General Manager,  this role will lead the strategic vision and growth of these important categories and we are looking for a superstar and highly experienced Buying Manager or Senior Buyer who has the ability to constantly innovate and challenge the status quo to drive market leading ideas! 

Your focus will be to…

  • Be a product focused leader within the company driven by customer wants and market trends
  • Work alongside the Planning Manager to set the strategic direction from the buying side of the Beauty & Home division
  • Drive multiple strategies across different segments & customer personas at one time
  • Lead, manage and mentor a team of Senior Buyers, Buyers, Juniors, Assistants and Admins
  • Run your business with a focus on key KPIs and overall business strategy driving the product aesthetic and brand relevance to the consumer
  • Managing your own OTB within Brands and Departments based on seasonally approved budgets
  • Best in class trading management with focused nimble actions driven approach
  • Dive and lead the buying focused promotional plan for short and long term planning with planning manager
  • Building solid relationships with key suppliers understanding the key wants from each supplier
  • Set best in class principals in buying for ecommerce
  • Sourcing relevant new overseas and local brands
  • Responsible for negotiation of terms and conditions of department signing off all new to department wholesale and Marketplace brands
  • Control of all purchasing-and-sales-related activities within the buying team
  • Manage multiple sources of supply with a holistic approach to brand and product direction
  • Market monitoring and identifying new trends
  • Working with Marketing Team to develop effective promotional campaigns

  • Well established branded contacts in ideally Beauty or Home categories, Australian experience highly desirable
  • Experience in building commercially successful ranges
  • An acute eye for current and future trends with the ability to back your judgement
  • Strong communication and negotiating skills
  • Commercial analytical/reporting and numeracy skills
  • High motivation, independence and resilience
  • Exposure to online buying would be highly advantageous
  • Advanced MS Excel knowledge
  • A Customer focused approach
