Given the growth in the business, the Finance team needs another Accounts Payable Specialist to join their high performing, fun and vibrant team!

The role of Accounts Payable sits within the Financial Control Team and involves providing financial and administrative support to Tyro by completing payments and control expenses by receiving payments plus processing, verifying and reconciling invoices. The Accounts Payable Specialist is critical in highlighting the day to day management of all payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner.


Responsibilities

  • Processing invoices and payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing invoices/ expense claims, recording taxes/GST, allocating expenses to ledger accounts and cost centres; and requisitions for satisfactory payment approval
  • Preparing purchase orders and invoices, investigating and resolving any problems associated with processing of invoices and purchase orders.
  • Processing timely and accurate payments to vendors and employees.
  • Keeping track of payment history and any outstanding payments.
  • Maintaining accurate accounts payable records, confidentiality of organisational information and existing controls.
  • Reconciling monthly bank statements and related transactions.
  • Clarifying any questionable invoice items, responding to invoice/payment queries from other stakeholders.
  • Assisting with monthly status reports and month-end closing.
  • Process documentation and improvements.
  • Preparing expense analysis and other ad hoc tasks required.
  • To be considered for the role, you will have:

  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
  • Proven working experience as an accounts payable clerk
  • Proven ability to manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Experience with Excel and accounting software
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
