Merchandise Planner at The Catch Group

Our planning function is key to our future success and growing fast! We currently have an opportunity for an analytically-minded and motivated Merchandise Planner to join the Catch Planning team. Each Planner takes responsibility for a number of categories, as well as then working together as a whole planning function for key projects and process improvement initiatives.

What you'll be doing

  • Strategically manage your portfolio to meet financial and inventory targets
  • Deliver accurate information on a timely basis on which buyers can base decisions
  • Promotion management
  • Reporting
  • Establish budgets for sales, markdowns, purchases, stock levels, stock turn, margin % and margin dollars for the department
  • In season trade, and review and recommend forward forecasts on sales, markdowns, stock, stock turn, margin, purchases and gross profit
  • Prepare and contribute to end of seasonal reviews
  • Ensure availability of key volume lines through forecasting
  • Contribute to the weekly meetings by providing analysis and recommendations to achieve sales, gross profit and stock targets
  • Help develop the range plan

Currently, the planning function has a key focus in the areas of aged stock management, replenishment programs, monthly planning and forecasting process effectiveness, and aligning our budgets to our promotional and advertising calendars. The successful applicants will play key roles in driving these projects forward.


  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • An understanding of Retail KPI's
  • High attention to detail
  • Planning experience within a retail or online environment
  • Strong numerical and analytical skill
