Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. All new and existing Atlassians will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our offices. When our offices re-open, we will provide the choice to work from home or return to work in an office unless a job requirement makes it necessary for a particular role to be performed at an Atlassian office.

Atlassian is looking for an experienced post-merger People Integration Lead to join our team. In this role you will contribute to helping Atlassian continue to grow through acquisitions. Working as a key part of the People M&A integration team, you will be the functional lead and point-person for all M&A integrations. You will partner across the People function (C&B, Payroll, People Operations, Workplace Experience, HR Business Partners etc.) as well as cross functionally with Corporate Development, Business Leaders, Legal, Finance, to proactively gather required inputs for integration planning and ensure successful execution of all integration efforts.

You will report to the Head of HR Business Partnership and People M&A Lead.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Establish the People function integration strategy; build, communicate and lead a deal specific targeted People integration project plan, cadences and protocols
  • Serve as the principal day-to-day point of contact for all post M&A People integration efforts, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and being involved in the subject matter of major issues
  • Demonstrate subject matter knowledge and seek required expertise to solve abstract and sophisticated integration issues within established guidelines and coordinate and communicate resolutions to all involved
  • Maintain required momentum and seek timely decisions on key issues, ensuring accountability for action items and deadlines
  • Provide status updates, handle dependencies and risks, raise issues
  • Act as a thought partner, present workarounds for exceptions/issues and seek required approvals
  • Mentor and guide the team to focus efforts on critical success factors, demonstrating best methodologies and cautioning against disruptors that may introduce risks or destroy deal value
  • Build and maintain the vitality of the People M&A playbook, identify gaps and improve existing plays 
  • On your first day, we will expect you to have:

  • Proven M&A experience, preferably in the IT industry
  • Prior demonstrable experience developing integration strategy, plans and leading post deal closure integration efforts
  • Proven experience developing integration strategy, plans and handling post deal closure integration efforts
  • You have strong, project management, critical thinking and collaborative skills to drive successful execution of pan-functional integration efforts
  • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing large numbers of competing priorities and changing directions quickly
  • You are comfortable working in a globally asynchronous and remote team environment, developing strong and proactive collaborative working relationships across the ecosystem
  • You are adept at handling sensitive data with the appropriate confidentiality
  • You are comfortable working with ambiguity, gaining alignment and making sound decisions based on available information
  • You have the ability and inclination to roll up your sleeves and be across the required detail to problem solve
  • It's great, but not required if you have:

  • Exposure to the various HR functional streams (e.g. HR Ops, Talent Acquisition, Reward)
  • PMP certification
  • A sound understanding of business and operating models in the technology industry
  • Ability and availability to travel (if required post Covid-19)
